The children were accompanied by the Senior School students who are part of the Eco Committee. Our students engaged in fun games, listened to stories and poems shared by the Senior School students, and then designed works of art! They collected natural materials that they found on the ground, used their mathematical skills to tally their results and then designed masterpieces depicting nature! It was a very productive morning and a great initiative of working closely with our older students from our Senior School campus who kindly shared their knowledge with us!

In early February, our Year 10 and Year 11 Geography students completed their IGCSE Fieldwork in Larnaca as part of a residential field trip! Day 1 was all about diving into urban change and regeneration as they explored the central business district of Larnaca. From bustling streets to evolving architecture, our students conducted hands-on fieldwork, unraveling the layers of change shaping this vibrant city and conducting questionnaires on local residents and visitors. On Day 2, they ventured to the Zygi coastal area, where they ivnestigated rates of erosion and deposition. Armed with curiosity and scientific tools, they collected data, which was later analysed and presented in order to revisit their original hypotheses.

  • A Fabulous Trip to the Ice Age Exhibition

    Published 29/02/24

The Year 1 children had a fabulous trip to the Ice Age exhibition last week. It linked wonderfully with our Science topic on Mammals and was a perfect introduction to a future topic on Pre-Historic Animals. The children were in awe of the lifelike models that moved and made very realistic noises! They learned all about what the world looked and felt like during the Ice Age, the creatures that lived then and Early Man. They were also able to read some very difficult dinosaur names!

In addition to this, we have had a fun practical week in Maths, learning about ‘Measure’. The children used so many creative non-standard units of measure to explore length and width. They drew around themselves and their teachers to see how tall they were and measured the length of the playground. Next week, they will begin to measure in centimetres and metres.
