Year 7 Entrance Exam
The entrance exam for Year 7 2026/2027 will take place on Wednesday, February 11 at 3:30 pm, at the Senior School Site. The entrance examination will be approximately 120 minutes long and will take place on a computer in one of our computer labs. Our type of examination is a Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4). CAT 4 is a suite of tests developed to support schools in understanding students' abilities and likely academic potential. It assesses how students think in areas that are known to make a difference to learning such as:
- reasoning with words
- reasoning with numbers
- reasoning with shapes and designs
- thinking with and mentally manipulating precise shapes
Results from CAT4 can be used to inform individual and group teaching, for target setting and monitoring the performance of groups of students.
