Huge congratulations to our incredible students who have earned top honours for their outstanding Cambridge IGCSE examination results! A special shoutout to Iliana Skordi, Melina Louca and Matvey Gurin, who were celebrated during a prestigious ceremony hosted by Cambridge International Education. Your hard work, dedication, and passion for excellence have truly paid off.

These students achieved the following honours:

• Iliana Skordi – Top Mark in Cyprus for Geography IGCSE
• Matvey Gurin – Top Mark in Cyprus for Business Studies IGCSE
• Melina Luca – High Achievement for Music IGCSE

On Thursday, February 13th, the Senior School Assembly Hall hosted the official presentation of our Sports School Programme for the upcoming academic year 2025-2026. This event welcomed both parents of current students and those interested in enrolling their children in the programme next year.

During the presentation, parents gained insights into:

• The new structure of the programme
• Criteria for selection and participation
• Vision, mission, and objectives
• Operational framework for the next academic year

Mr Constantinos Charalambides, Sports School Coordinator and Head Football Coach, introduced the Information Package 2025-2026, a comprehensive handbook outlining all key details. He also provided a brief overview of the Football Department. Additionally, Mr Demetris Herodotou, Head Tennis Coach, presented his philosophy, criteria, and the high standards expected for students joining and continuing in the programme. Parents were also introduced to the Individual Athletes Programme, designed for students excelling in various sports disciplines.

Y12 and Y13 AS and A level Global Perspectives students had the opportunity to use the University of Cyprus library databases to conduct research for their research papers. They were taught how to use various platforms and how to use the library reference systems. This research gave them access to academic journals and texts that they will use in their CIE examination research projects on topics in areas like Human Rights, Law, Crime and Criminology, Sports, Social Media and Artificial Intelligence.

This was a valuable opportunity for our students to engage in academic research and to get a first-hand experience of academic life.

We are proud to report that the Junior and Senior School has been given an honorary medal by the St John Order, England, and a certificate for their regular participation in the organization. Mr Achilleas Vyrides - the lead first aid trainer and examiner - represented the school at the ceremony. Well done to Mr Vyrides! This is a credit for our School!

Linking with their interesting topic on the Great Fire of London, Y2 celebrated with a Fire Safety Day on Wednesday November 20th. The morning started in the Hall where children met with volunteers from Support CY who shared interesting facts and their experiences with fires and gave the children important tips on fire safety. Thank you to Mr. Marios Stavrou and Mr. Christos Theodoulou for also giving the children the great opportunity to see one of their fire trucks and all the equipment used when there is an actual fire. Our day was completed with the children presenting their own fabulous work on fire safety.

Our junior students Aris, Ioanna, and Platon took part in the 7th Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon, where they successfully ran 1 km!We are so proud of their courage to take on this challenge and their determination to complete the race.
