The 2023 International Academic Competitions - European Championships were held this past weekend in Barcelona, Spain, where Andreas WON the European Geography Bee and our team of Ada, Alex, Andreas, Daniel and Iasonas, ranked SECOND in the history bowl competition! A proud moment for their families and The Junior and Senior School.
We are very excited and would like to welcome our head football coach, Constantinos Charalambides to the Senior Sports School! We are looking forward to welcoming both our coach and our elite athletes
Our MindReset finalists were invited to the Lidl Food Academy last Sunday to learn about nutrition and healthy eating. The girls were treated to breakfast then tasked with preparing a main course of chicken souvlaki with accompliments, a halloumi salad and an oat cookie dessert in their own kitchens. The challenge was explained and demonstrated by a professional chef and they were supported by students from the University of Nicosia.
Our students worked tirelessly as a team and the resulting dishes were delicious! Many thanks to Junior Achievement Cyprus for giving us this opportunity and well done to the girls who excelled themselves!
Many congratulations to our Senior School company ‘ConnecTeen’ for participating in the Top 10 final round of the Junior Achievement Cyprus Company Programme, out of 57 Junior Companies across Cyprus!! Well done to all students and to their teacher, Mr. Afantitis. 
During the evening, our school received an Award Certificate for being one of the schools that participated for 10 consecutive years in the entrepreneurship programmes of JA Cyprus. Special thanks also go to our teachers Ms. Varvatsoulis and Ms. Christou, from the Business Faculty.
On February 9th, we had the pleasure of welcoming to our school, two representatives from ActionAid Hellas, Dr. Nefeli Paparisteidi and Ms. Giouli Megagianni. ActionAid considers education and lifelong learning as key tools in addressing poverty and injustice and as such invests in education so as to nurture active citizens capable of striving for a fairer world for all. The purpose of the visit was to introduce the project Financial Literacy in Cyprus and to promote financial education in both primary and secondary educational institutions as well as to link it to active citizenship through teacher training.
The Senior School already is a pioneer in embedding Financial Literacy into our curriculum in the 6th Form but we hope to be able to collaborate with ActionAid Hellas to not only develop own resources and training in the field but also to work towards developing programmes in younger age groups.
Children in Pre-primary (Reception) and Early Years engaged in Easter customs as part of their Greek lesson. In particular, the pre-primary children, among others, had the opportunity to watch the process of preparing the traditional "flaouna" by a representative of the Zorbas Bakeries. The children also followed the steps to prepare their own, and the process was completed with the children eating ready-made ''flaounes''!
In addition, the Early Years children proceeded to prepare the traditional "kattimeri", with the teachers explaining the preparation process and actively involving them so that each child could make their own.
